While doing photocatalytic dye degradation i observed some materials decreases the concentration of cationic dye but increase the concentration of anionic dye.
Maybe due to those materials are negatively charged.
Most of the nanomaterials have either positive or negative surface charges. Therefore, they adsorb dyes with opposite charges.
You better determine the zetha potential of the composite you are using to make sure that it has negative charge.
