I have some questions about coulombic efficiency at my Sodium Ion battery. When I charge/discharge my battery about 10 cycles, it shows approximately 95~96% of C.E. My experiments condition is
Cathode Materials : Prussian Blue Analogue(80 wt%) + Activated carbon (15%) + PVDF (5%) (Blade coated on the Carbon Paper)
Anode Materials : Activated carbon 100% (blade coated on the carbon paper)
electrolyte : 1M NaCl Aqueous
Cell : Beaker cell
Charge/Discharge Tamperature : 25℃.
I don't know why the C.E is low and constant... It would be my pleasure if you give me some insight about this problem.

All kind of batteries have losses either Na, Li or any other. Side reaction that occurs within the electrochemistry of the cell prevents the efficiency from reaching 100 percent. Ultra-fast charging and heavy loading also reduces the energy efficiency
I've attached a PDF reference from a leading group on this issue. In general, low coulombic efficiency (C.E) is a reflection of parasitic (side or unwanted) reactions unrelated to conventional charge and discharge behavior of the battery. These can include electrode or electrolyte interactions with impurities, non self-limited SEI growth, or other parasitic pathways dependent on your electrode/electrolyte chemistries and the cycling parameters used when testing the cell. Make sure you use battery grade materials from commercial suppliers, and operating within realistic voltage window, applying accurate current density for your system will all improve C.E of your cell.
