When I process my elevation grid file in ILWIS, it shows the cells with elevations above 1000. However, when I export the grid file as an Arc ASCII grid file using ILWIS (I am having problems in exporting using GDAL), ILWIS sets the cells with elevations above 1000 as no data. I have a feeling that I am overlooking some sort of setting which sets the limit of the values to be exported by ILWIS, but I cannot seem to know what it is.

Could you upload an example Arc ASCII? Just the first few lines (the complete header + some data, not all!) It would be easier to figure out what the problem could be.

Can you try with QGIS, open source software , it will be easier for you.
Just a guess, but is bit-depth the issue (e.g., 8-bit vs. 16-bit)? Or format, whether or not you're being allowed negative integer values?
Have you been opening the Arc ASCII grid file with a text editor? Is there difference between reading the raw data in you text editor and your GIS software ? If it's the case then have a look on the configuration of your GIS Software
Hi! I'm really sorry for the very late reply, but as it turns out, the ILWIS I had that time had a problem in the installation, plus that version (3.6 was it?) had a bit of a glitch. I used Arc, and didn't encounter the same problem. :)
