Why does dexamethasone is added when using cyclic AMP?

Hello all,

I have seen a couple of papers adding Dexamethasone together with cyclic AMP to stimulate the cells. However, I don't understand why dexamethasone was added.

I found one paper described that Dexamethasone inhibits PDE4 ( Article Dexamethasone down-regulates cAMP-phosphodiesterase in human...

). Is it the reason?
