I have two two soil samples, dark coloured and light coloured. They both have the same soil pH (4.7). In an attempt to raise their soil pH to neutral I realised that the dark coloured soil took more lime (and time) than the light coloured soil. Why?
Thank you @M.A.A. Al-Fatlawi. Unfortunately I couldn't find the answer to my question. I read that "soils low in organic matter or high in sand content require less lime to change the pH than clay soils or those with high organic matter" but the reason was not given. I would be very grateful if you could give me the reason (s). Thank you
