I have high passage C4-2B (20) that grow very well in medium with FBS, but not in medium with 10% of charcoal stripped serum. This line should be castration resistant, could the passage number affect their resistance?
Has anyone had any experience with these cells? How can I perform androgen-deprivation treatments on this cell line?

Somehow C4-2B is much more sensitive to stress than any other CRPC cells I grow in the lab, the cells may still require some growth factors (ie TGFbeta family) to survive, which lack in charcoal stripped media.
