Solomon Mengistie this is a great question. Why do you think is the reason that the American government interference with the inhouse affairs of independent countries? Unfortunately, the unelected members of government, State Department, CIA, even perhaps Naval Intelligence since OSS in world war two have played fast and furious with US laws outside the country. In some respects, the world is like a vast game of Risk and the players are treated by rank and strategic importance. I have a hard time believing that if push came to shove The US intelligence and diplomatic services would side with Ethiopia over say Egypt for example. I hope that helps but I realize I offered no solution.
