I am working on the project "Effect of dividend policy on firm's vale in India", my project is based on the study of one Nairobi student.
Following are regression equation variables
Value of the firm (TobinQ), Dividend Payout Ratio, Timing of Dividend Payment(TDP), Mode of Dividend Payment(MDP), Debt Ratio, Firm Size.
As I am doing the regression analysis in SPSS one of the variable i.e. MDP is getting missed in the result window. Unable to know the reason for this missing variable in result. Need help on this.
It would be helpful to have a little more information. Are you manually entering it into the regression and then not seeing it at all in the output, or is the output indicating there is an error associated with the variable? Do you have the variable coded as numeric or something else (e.g., string, perhaps)?
Hello, as others suggested look closely at "Method" of variable selection/inclusion in the model.
If you are looking to control the variable selection yourself, be sure to select "Enter" as the initial method when performing regression analysis. Depending on the results you may proceed to test different methods and I'm sure you'll quickly understand why the varialbe gets excluded under different metod.
Of course, first make sure that the variable is numeric, check for missing values etc.
