Why do some people, questioning the results of scientific research, continue to claim that humans are not responsible for the increase in greenhouse gas emissions and the accelerating process of global warming that has been taking place over the past 200 years?

Since the first industrial (technological) revolution, greenhouse gas emissions have increased exponentially and global warming has accelerated. The increase in average atmospheric temperature that has taken place in just the last 200 years is comparable to the changes in the temperature of our planet's atmosphere that previously took place over periods of hundreds of thousands or many millions of years, i.e. in periods when there was not yet a human civilization built on an industrial combustion economy or there were no humans on the planet at all. Long-term predictive models of climate change show that already in the current 21st century, in the perspective of only a few more decades, a global climate catastrophe may occur, which will lead to the degradation of most of the planet's natural environments, will cause the degradation of most natural ecosystems, will cause a strong decline in the biodiversity of natural ecosystems, a strong decline in the production of agricultural crops, a decline in drinking water supplies, a significant reduction in the areas where human existence will be possible. Earlier already, in the perspective of the next several years, the critical point of the amount of greenhouse gases in the planet's atmosphere may be exceeded, which will cause the process of global warming to enter the path of an irreversible process and, in addition, significantly accelerate. Additional factors activating the acceleration of the global warming process will be the still high and in some economic regions of the world still increasing levels of greenhouse gas emissions, the still progressive deforestation of natural areas of tropical forests and other climatic zones, the melting of glaciers which will reduce the scale of sunlight reflection, the melting of permafrost and the release of large quantities of millions of tons of methane frozen millions of years ago, ie. a gas many times more potent in terms of generating the greenhouse effect of the planet's atmosphere than CO2, the increase in volcanic activity and the continuation of the increase in the scale of forest fires which will further generate greenhouse gas emissions, etc. Therefore, most of it now depends on man and most of it depends on how much, on what scale the green transformation of the economy can be realized in the next few years. On this depends the future of the climate, the biosphere, the biodiversity of the planet but also the future of the next generations of people.

On the other hand, the results of a number of bibliographic studies show that in recent years the importance of sustainability issues has been growing, people's awareness of the issues of the green circular economy, the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, environmental and climate social responsibility, the green transformation of the economy, including the development of renewable and carbon-free energy sources, etc., has been growing. This is a good thing, because the issue of saving the climate, biosphere and biodiversity of natural ecosystems for future generations of people depends on to what extent and in what time the green transformation of the economy can be realized. May this be realized effectively in the shortest possible time in the coming years, and may we succeed in stopping or at least significantly slowing down the process of global warming, which has been progressing ever faster since the first industrial revolution, and may we succeed in avoiding a global climate catastrophe or at least significantly reducing its scale and preparing well for it. For the New Year 2024, I wish for an increase in the scale and acceleration of the processes of green transformation of the economy, a significant increase in the scale of implementation of the goals of sustainable development, environmental and climate social responsibility, etc. There is little time left to save the planet's climate, biosphere and biodiversity from much greater degradation than has already occurred. Now that we know what and how the green transformation of the economy should be carried out, we must not miss the opportunity to save the climate, biosphere and biodiversity of the planet for future generations of people.

In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:

Why do some people, questioning the results of scientific research, continue to claim that humans are not responsible for the increase in greenhouse gas emissions and the accelerating process of global warming that is taking place over the past 200 years?

Why do some people, questioning the results of scientific research, still claim that humans are not responsible for global warming?

And what is your opinion about it?

What is your opinion on this issue?

Please answer,

I invite everyone to join the discussion,

Thank you very much,
