Why DNA ladder but not RNA samples disappeared in bleach denatured gel?

I ran my RNA samples in bleach gel with dsDNA ladder on the same gel (Bleach gel: a simple agarose gel for analyzing RNA quality - PubMed (nih.gov)). However, my DNA ladder, even triple amount what I usually use, always shows smear. RNAs look fine.

The same ladder in a formaldyhyde denatured agarose gel is perfect. What could cause bleach degrade DNA but not RNA?
