Next time you fly, take a window seat, observe the vastness of the air around you, lttle puffs of cloud that are kilometres wide and tens of miles away, and occasionally you may see a tiny sliver of metal flick by. Then you may not be so surprised that a plane 'that big' can just disappear. But I agree that with all the satellites and wireless communication it is surprising that the there is so little hard fact.

The question was pure technical on delivering real time-data to satellite, but not about the reasons for missing of MH370!

My wife has the same doubt. I told her to throw a gain of dust into our rea gardend and try to find it.
A plane looks very big and is less than a grain of dust to a garden when in relation to a sea.

The 'technical apparatus' exists, but probably the lobby of airplanes industry do not want to spend more money for a 100% reliable activation of this option.
