We wanted to create a syngeneic colon cancer mouse model for my research work. For this, I have chosen CT26 cells, a colon cancer cell line. Many literature reviews reported that the CT26 (1*106) cells can form cancer in the colon within 7–10 days after inoculation via both intraperitoneal (I.P.) and subcutaneous (S.C.) injection.

We tried both I.P. and S.C. injections, but in our case, we did not get any cancer in the colon of mice even after 21 days.

Will it work if we immunocompromised the mice before CT26 cell inoculation?

If yes, can anyone please suggest specific immunocompromised drugs that can be used to induce colon cancer before inoculating CT26 cells?
