It known that amines are useful as a template in zeolite crystallization. It is assumed that the electron density around Nitrogen play a vital role. If it is so electron rich compounds like phenol or ether also should play as template. I did not see any reports related to it. Why it is so ?

However, to get basic pH (where metal oxide get nucleated), we have to use somehow strong basic organic moiety. Amine would be best option
As far as I know, ether does work in some cases like the synthesis of high nuclear meal-oxygen clusters, such as polyoxometalates. But the mechanism is not clear. when a molecule is considered a template, the noncovalent interactions do matter (shouldn't be ignored) ,you see.
Thank you for the reply. I too accept some of the aspects. I have seen some of the reports with crown ether. Researchers are also attempted with alcohols. If we say pH is one of the reason, Sodium or potassium hydroxide can also play as template. There were no such reports.
