the problem could be, that You apply both pretension objects to the same surface. It doesn't matter where you click with the cursor, ansys decides internally where the pretension elements would be set. Try to use Design Modeler (Tools -> Face Split) or Space Claim or different CAD Modeler to separate the surfaces of your thread. The best is, when you also split also the faces being in contact with other bodies. And then try to apply the every pretension object on a separate thread surface. Regards, Anton

Thank you for your reply. No Anton I did not add the bolt pretension two the same surface.

Also https://www.sharcnet.ca/Software/Ansys/17.0/en-us/help/wb_sim/ds_Pretension.html gives an explanation how apply bolt pretension properly.
