One of Elsevier journals has just applied a restriction to the number of authors (max. of three authors), why? and is this general for all Elsevier journals?

thank you for your response.
While submitting a manuscript to this journal (with four genuine authors) and after adding three authors, an automated message appeared saying "limit reached". After adding the three authors, no more authors can be added.
The number of authors can be more than three in the Elsevier journals such as Bioorganic Chemistry Journal
