I have received acceptance for two papers from an Elsevier journal in the same month. I have received the final version of one of them but not the other. Does this mean that the other article will be published in the next issue?
It could be published in the next issue, but not because you already have one article in the present issue, but because of space and processing consideration, or, that it took more time to review the second paper.
If the editor considers that the article /s good & knowledgeable for readers & space available then the two articles may be published. However, the article/s may be published later on after peer review. So it's really appreciated and congratulations.
Sure - I have!! :-) In fact at least twice: once in a special issue with an editorial AND two papers, second a two-part paper based on a long submitted paper that the editor wanted to cut into two halves.
Yes, it is. But, if you are a faculty in an university and is applying for the promotion or even in free competition, then in some university service commissions, only one article from one issue is evaluated not the all from the same issue.
Yes, many journals can. If the review processes of both papers are concluded within similar time frames and the manuscripts went to production the same time, why not? A few journals might want to delay one for the next issue but frequently, they get published in the same issue. There's absolutely no problem with that.
Many thanks all for your answers. I have already contacted the production team earlier. The second paper has been published in the next issue due to the busy schedule of the production.
Yes, it may be. I have also Published two papers in Ann. of Botany in the same issue and two papers in the continous two issues of Journal of Tropical Forest Science. Its the journal’s/ Editor’s policy and also space available in the issue to be published. So, there is no need to worry. Good, keep it up.
