Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said at a Friday news conference he believes any country that eventually produces a viable Covid-19 vaccine needs to share it with the world.
Whoever finds this vaccine must share it," Morrison said. "Any country that was to find this vaccine, and not make it available around the world without restraint ... will be judged terribly by history."
Morrison also pledged that if Australia finds the vaccine, "we will share it."
He also said that Australia is well-positioned to take advantage and be "in a position to be able to manufacture and supply vaccines should they be developed."

It is of utmost importance this time to get a vaccine tested and ready and which proves helpful to humans rather than adding more misery. Whenever the vaccine will be available, whosoever country gets it ready with all the trails and all should get it available worldwide and not get it dumped for their benefits and profits. WHO and Unicef and Rotary and GAVI must make sure that vaccine reaches every nook and corner of the world. The countries otherwise which will dump will be remembered terribly in history.
Thanks for your kind words towards humanity but unluckily most of the world may face coronavirus without a vaccine as the most developed countries have already booked vaccines before they come into reality. 'Vaccine nationalism will not help us,' says WHO director-general Richer countries must make a political commitment to ensure that any Covid-19 vaccine is distributed fairly across the world, the head of the World Health Organization has urged. Speaking on Thursday, WHO director general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said there should be a “global consensus” to make any vaccine a global health product, and that to do so is a “political choice”. There are currently more than 140 vaccines in development around the world, with several promising candidates in human clinical trials. But there is concern among experts and campaigners that initial demand for the vaccine could surpass manufacturing capacity, and that some countries could be priced out of the market. “Vaccine nationalism is not good, it will not help us,” said Dr Tedros. “When we say it should be a public good, it’s not sharing for the sake of sharing, it’s only because it has advantages.
