Dogmatism is a rigid, uncritical adherence to beliefs, doctrines and theories. I am convinced that we encounter dogmatism very often in political theory and the history of ideas. Yes, perhaps dogmatism is even the rule in political theory. Has anyone worked on it or does anyone know of any work on it? I don't mean the work on dogmatic political theories or ideologies, but the work on dogmatism in political theory.

I would recommend Dana Villa's Teachers of the People: Political Education in Rousseau, Hegel, Tocqueville, and Mill. It identifies dogmatic trends across political theories and explores how each of the four theorists analyzed engages with dogmatism in their societies
