Hi all dear colleagues
I am working on a paper of a damaged 3 story building due to a recent earthquake 7.3, I need a coauthor for the intended paper who can do the 3D modeling of the mentioned building in Abaqus which is a skeleton and have partition walls.......He would be the rank number1 author if he can proceed with this task...thank you so much in advance.
It is not easy to simulate the damage in ABAQUS, because there is no proper constitutive model available for RCC damage in ABAQUS, may be you have to write UMAT. If your goal is just seismic damage of structure ignoring soil-structure interaction then i suggest you to use PERFORM 3D or SAP.
Thank you all ...I am considering soil-structure interaction in the analysis......the 3D model can be done in auto-cad or any other cad software ......I will do frequency analysis too so that to determine the vibration mode due to the earthquake ...and supporting on these issues I will simulate it for the earthquak to detect the reason of the damage and the solution for retrofitting if probable.

Thank you so much for your valuable contribution......you are right , I have considered the same idea which have you mentioned ......I will do so because what is important is to determine the vibration mode and then the damage analysis.

I think I may help you to model your frame in Abaqus. I may model your frame either with concrete damage plasticity model by Lee and Fenves (available in Abaqus library) or the modified version of damaged plasticity model which we have developed here at university of Innsbruck (it is only valid for monotonic loading).
Please take a look at the attached files and let me know your opinion.

P.S. I also added the predicted damage by numerical simulations with some modifications for better understanding. SDV6 is the damage variable.
