I'd like to ask if there is difference in TRI reagent supplied by several companies: Sigma, Peqlab, invitrogen...etc. Is there any one preferred for use for RNA isolation?
All them are based on Chomczynski P, Sacchi N. protocol from Anal Biochem 1987...yes, 27 years ago paper (using acid guanidinium thiocyanate-phenol-chloroform extraction). I have used several of them in order to extract total RNA from human cells and actually I'm using Tri reagent from Euromedex (cheapest). There is one for liquids sample that is Trizol LS that you can choose according to your sample....good luck!
It really shouldn't matter that much. I have used most of them and they all work just fine. Sigma is always good, but you can get cheaper ones from Gibco, Qiagen etc.
It's not that expensive either, so take your choice.

Thanks a lot Jorge ....But what about using chloroform that is stabilized with ethanol while using TRI reagent?
It was answered in another of your post..."You should use chloroform for molecular biology from Sigma which is using amylenes as stabilizer (sigma C2432)". good luck!
