I read some articles that MOF can store the hydrogen in solid state so we don't need very low temp or high-pressure tank again for store the hydrogen in the liquid state but I still don't understand how to release that solid hydrogen from MOF to become energies after store that hydrogen into MOF
There are various ways to do this. The use of solvents (solvatochromic effects), piezo mechanism (mechanical stress), thermal method etc. The basic idea is to change the frameworks by destroying the pockets which adsorb the hydrogen molecules into channels or total collapse of the structure using the above mentioned approach to release the hydrogen molecule. thanks for your explanation, but if like what you said the main idea is "change framework by destroying the pockets" so that MOF can't be used again after releasing the hydrogen because I thought if like that the structure of MOF would be change. is that right? for your information. actually, my purpose is I want to make hydrogen storage to become like LPG tank and use that hydrogen for cooking.
With solvents, it's reversible. I have also seen that with thermal approach.
