Schroeder's paradox states that a polymer(gel) swells more in contact with a pure liquid than the vapor in equilibrium with this liquid. Thermodynamics states that both the liquid and vapor have the same chemical potential. This seems to indicate that Schoeder's paradox should be a non-equilibrium phenomenon.
In some of our studies in our lab we touch on observations inline with Schoeder's paradox. Does anybody recent (review) papers that given a nice overview of the following points?
1. Listings of systems obeying Schoeder's paradox and systems that do not follow this paradox.
2. The various theoretical models put forward to solve the paradox.
