Hi Henk,

It does depend on their size, but you might have to cut them, which becomes destructive. I cannot comment on XRF, but for laser ablation you'll have to cut a slice, perpendicularly to the growth direction. The size of the piece will be dictated by the laser installation chamber. Once you have your slice, I'd suggest you polish it a bit.

They are very big. About 100 Kg!! in weight and 1 m wide.
