Aluminium foil is known for providing conductive surface area. However, as the aluminium foil is produced with two surfaces; shining and not so shining, just wonder whether the conductivity of different sides for the aluminium foil will be different. Some statement mentioned that the not so shining have rough surface area at the microscopic level which at the same time forming amount of oxide. The formation of oxide is suspected to reduce the conductivity. Hope may get further explanation regarding this matter. Thank you.
I agree with previous answer as the shiny and not shiny part has the same heat conductivity and it does not mean one side had been oxidized more than the other. The difference in shininess is simply a result of manufacturing process.
I agree with the previous viewpoint that electrical conductivity of aluminium foil will be greatly decreased, if the aluminum oxide is formed in the double surface of metallic surface. However, it is metallic for aluminum with a relatively lower resistance, and it is conductor. Maybe, you can compare the metallic resistance for aluminum and insulation resistance for aluminum in order to roughly know the phenomena of oxide. If you want to obtain the precise value, that is one difficult job.
