04 January 2020 3 2K Report

I want to assess the well-being of farmers in Southeast through both an assets and psychological perspective and am having trouble finding a good measurement scale for the latter. Ideally, I want to use a 3-item per scale survey (18 questions in total) but after some research I realize this version has been internally inconsistent. The results from this survey tool will likely be summed to produce a single index value since psychological well-being is only one component of my research. In either case of looking at it from a unidimensional or multidimensional perspective, which short versions of the Psychological Well-Being Scale do you recommend? What is the best process for selecting the items to ensure they are statistically valid and culturally appropriate?

OR do you recommend another assessment tool entirely? Please link the survey questions if available.

Thank you!
