Firstly, I have extracted RNA samples by using QIAzol, and then I also tried to use TRIzol to extract RNA samples. Can anyone tell me which RNA extraction method is better between the extraction by using QIAzol and TRIzol? And what the pros and cons of each method?
I recommend the Zymogen direct-zol kit. It works like the Qiagen kit but cheaper and just as fast as the RNeasy kit. No kit will be as cheap as the spin down method but, these columns are great.
Md Abdur Rahim Thanks so much for your very useful tips. It is true that I can obtain more RNA yield from TRIzol than Qiazol, yet I am not sure whether which method provide better quality. Do you think that the Qiagen kit RNA extraction provide better RNA quality?
Mohamed Mahdy I am currently using Trizol too. And I also have Qiazol in my lab, just I decided to try Trizol and compare between these two methods. I see that I can get more RNA yield in RNA extraction with TRIzol, but I am not yet sure which one provide better quality.
Ryan Daniel Calvert I used to extract RNA with Qiagen Kit and it worked pretty well and is easy to use. However, I have never use Zymogen direct-zol kit. Thanks for your recommendation.
