The best profession to settle is teacher. Teacher not only teaches in the classroom but can share knowledge to the children and outsiders who are weak in the subject.
This is not a simple question to answer. It depends on many factors: (1) your own interest in various subjects, (2) employment opportunities including room for advancement, (3) if it is a research field funding issues, (4) sustainability of the profession including long term prospects
It depends on personal choice; but profession we choose must bring bread and butter in our lives; if other preferences that are less robust in bringing food and shelter, then put them as side hobby, for practical purposes to live in this practical world.
If you don't have a specialty already, you could try education (teaching). It is satisfactory, has challenges and you can get better at it as you go along. Some of the rewards are the recognition given to you by former students (if you give them a good time).
That's gender-differentiated. Women today have a secure chance of being given preference over men when it comes to filling a professorship at a university with the same qualifications. That is what the law prescribes, at least in my country.
It is all about personal choice, and for me nothing is like settling. If you like to do your favourite job, I think you will do that and settle your life.
Profession to attain is decided by the student in his 10th or for some on parents encouragement at early age. Any profession as manager in banks, professor in universities, lawyer in courts, doctors in hospitals and engineers in industry can be chosen. All professions are great and good. One has to put tremendous hard work to attain, what they want.
Of course, the decision of which profession to choose at the end of non-university studies is something that corresponds exclusively to the student. But in many cases the student knows what he does not like, but in the face of what he possibly likes, a wide range of professions is opened. In this case, parents and school counselors can play an essential role in helping the student make decisions. This orientation becomes more important when the student considers studying professions as a doctor, teacher or nurse ..., since in these professions a great vocation is required, in addition to some skills.
Albert Schweitzer, among others, was named as the model here. Quite rightly so. But it was an exceptional phenomenon. He helped the people in his medical station in Lamberene. But he was also a fully trained theologian and university lecturer. And third, Albert Schweitzer was a musician and musicologist. His great treatise on the Bach cantatas is well known. His organ playing is famous.
I think that by no means the motivation to choose a certain profession is the guarantee to also achieve this of a successful education and professional practice. If you think you are a good teacher, you don't have to do it in reality. Many difficulties come from outside, from structural conditions. If you would like to become an astrophysicist, you may be able to do so, as you discover during your studies and change your course of studies.
It is different according to people, but most in our societies view medicine as the best profession, for me the profession of university teaching is the best.
We say, "Handicrafts have a golden bottom." In fact, there are many academics who have little income. On the other hand, there is a shortage of craftsmen and training places for apprentices in many sectors. Craftsmen can do a good job and earn enough money to feed a family and even consider further career advancement.
Every individual is unique and so is their skill and talent. Love and passion for the job you do is foremost to sustain in that particular profession. Hence, before one completes schooling, as a mature adult, he has the capacity to decide what he loves and what he is good at. However, this happens in the rarest cases.
Like you said, everyone should do their own self-study. Why - strange question. Because another person who can't do it for me or you, you have to do it yourself. Doing something yourself has been the simplest method of gaining experience so far.
The best profession to settle depends on the interest of each and every individual. In general the priority is given as doctor, engineer, teacher etc. and continues. Selection of a profession depends also on background of family, either to build subject or to earn money or to do service to people.
This depends from person to person and capability to handle the position. As far as my opinion, teacher is the best profession to settle. The advantage being one can gain and share knowledge and this profession is well respected in society.
