teaching is not an easy job. it requires being involved in a lot of activities such as preparing, lecturing, testing, correcting loads of papers....etc. which part do you enjoy?
I enjoy teaching the most, by establishing communication with students for not they just know but understand, and I do that by sparking the brains that may change the world, as:
"I’m not sayin’ I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will.” (Tupac Shakur)
I had taught chemistry to under graduate and post graduate students and for some years content cum method to B. Ed students. I always entered classroom well in time and without wasting time in other things started teaching the topic of the day following best possible strategies customized to that topic. during discussion I used to do formative evaluation just to keep students focused and to find if the students are understanding the concepts. I used to take too much interest in practical labs by assisting students at the working seat. I was never interested in setting question papers of university until and unless it was a binding. I rarely went in class without going thru content even if the I considered that topic very easy for me. I used to do action research on curriculum and and suitability of pedagogical strategies.
While making a difference may be the primary answer to the question of “why do teachers love teaching?” the issue of job security is also very important. Teachers are needed everywhere, which means a qualified, experienced teacher will not have to worry about getting fired from their job due to layoffs or budget cuts, as many other professionals in different fields sometimes have to. Job security is one of the main reasons that people who are inclined to teach decide to pursue this profession.
The best part of teaching in university was a feeling of always young while working with students . That is something very important due to this unique feeling , one work more energetically . More over , teaching the students give you all sorts of confidence in research work . You will not experience such feeling if working in sole research institute where teaching is not there . I worked in both situation and that is my experience. Regards !
The best part of teaching is when the student's eyes grow large and their smile outshines the sun; the 'aha' moment! That shift is what makes teaching so rewarding.
When your students get at their best, and outstandingly succeed in their lives. That's the best part all the paperwork, and all other hassle could be forgiven for.
I enjoy teaching, there is a flow of interactive communication between you and the students, it feels great when i realize that the new concept i have introduced has been grasped by a at least three quarters of the class, and this can be seen during the discussion and assessment. it motivates me to even prepare more and more lectures when i see my students excel in national examinations.
I taught many years ago. Teaching gives me the opportunity to refresh, to re-learn. And when you see the eyes of your students light up, you feel a sense of fulfillment. That's what I enjoyed most. I would love to go back to teaching again. I miss the discipline.
I enjoyed teaching students a lot, my first experience as undergraduate teaching was in RIE mysore, remembering the classes was awesome to me. Even we are teaching the same topic for number of years students are different each year making us to get new receptors each year. Now i am teaching PG students, my one strongest i should be a good teacher with life time incoming and outgoing calls.
When the content, activity, discussion and facilitation have all aligned and students truly have made personal meaning of it all, that is the best part of being a teacher.
Working with parents helps children who live outside the Zone of Privilege learn some respect for their families, respect they lose in the US because of the way we have set up our society. Working with parents is the best part of my teaching job.
Teaching is a noble profession so it has to be loved by the person who shoulders its responsibilities, willingly. If one does not stand heat, then he has to get out of the kitchen.
This sublime job was meant to be enjoyable & rewarding but this occurs if the surrounding context or environment is a positive one. If there is a harsh negative atmosphere around, then there is a challenge to overcome & win the students.
As a long serving teacher, I saw the students growing up from 1st year university level to the 4th year level & beyond repeatedly. Many times, I felt happiness upon seeing that I conferred a constructive impact upon most of them through the years.
After all, the students have to be considered as our sons & daughters so it is our duty to give them the best possible education without any disappointment.
I enjoy the discussion aspect of teaching. It is a wonderful avenue to explore the diverse thoughts of multiple people toward one goal. It is a beautiful scenery of pluralistic eyes looking at a painting from different angles. I love discursive teaching so much...always in great anticipation for the next class!Best regards
Preparing and teaching, without a doubt. I enjoy preparing questions for the students to answer and then making then think, and not to only listen, but trying to get answers from a problem. It converts them from mere spectators in a classroom to researcehrs
Teaching and observing the results so that the feedback I gain can help me to adapt my materiañ or delivery aan thereby become an even better teacher based on real-world experiences. However, having been involved in reasearch for many years, without sound & valid research, where would we all be?
Not a teacher at the moment but I was as one point of time. The best part is being able to inspire and motivate your students to achieve something (not just in-terms of knowledge but in life in general) that they thought they could not.
It depends on the level we teach in. I have taught from primary to university level. however when my students asks questions and satisfy them or when the feel difficulty and i help them.
Further wouldlike to add to my previous answer - Teaching provides an opportunity for focused reserch because one who teaches a particular specialised subject finds more time to study and consult the advanceshappening on that particular subject. This makes the teacher a better researcher too provide he or she takes the teaching seriously For example , when I first started teaching vegetation ecology to PG student you won't believe that I took full one and half months to explain contuum concept of vegetation distribution . I used to take two periods of forty - five minutes each every day except the holidaysckntinously for 45 days . In turn my studies on the subject for teaching helped me a lot to use ordination techniques to describe the vegetation patterns in central Himalayan forests .In 1980 s , perhaps I was the first person to use ordination techniques. At that time we had no access to computers , all the calculations were done using calculators. But I succeeded to publish some good research papers in high impact journals .
....seeing the progress of the student and the end result. I love my job as an educator. I get the most satisfaction when students overcome learning challenges and eventually make progress. Another thing that warms my heart is years after when you see a student or the parents and they simply say "Thank you." It's all the students and parents for me....not the salary
The most enjoyable moments are when my students ask me unexpected questions and challenge the information and me. The debates that we engage in. That moment is my aha moments! Moments like this reassures me that they are not just parroting me but thinking on their own. I believe teachers are to show the many ways that exist while the students have to choose their own path.
The worsts are when I have to be sarcastic and put them in their place. Makes me feel guilty and shallow afterwords.
Teaching is the most important part. I am passionate about it. With it trying different tools of teaching like story telling, simulations, case study etc. More of interactive session. Taking up research with students also helps them.
Learning something new from your students each day...making the teaching/learning process mutually enjoyable, having fun and enjoy the process of teaching/learning ...
Teaching is the most joyous and satisfactory for me. It makes me feel good when my younger nephews come to me and say that their maths basics are clear because of me
After teaching a subject when students say that I never thought it is so easy and never liked the subject, but now I feel like knowing more about this subject... is the best feedback for me.
