It depends on your project goals mainly. In addition to the software you mentioned, you should take a look to Optimus and JMP.
I also worked with Matlab but you may be familiar with Matlab programming.
I used a design expert for my project and, without any problems, I was able to carry out all my own requirements. It seems good to me.
Design Expert package is specialized for two goals. Design of Experiments (DOE) and constructing RSM. If your problem's requirements that you want to be optimized are supported by Design Expert, it is suggested to used this software, because is more user friendly. But, some times you need to define more complicated problem in terms of objectives and constraints with different types of variables. So, you can also consider the MATLAB optimization toolbox.
Design expert will do you a great deal if you actually need to optimise .
remember that in trying to consider some aditional variables,you might neeed to go manual using MATLAB
Between Minitab and Design expert, Design expert is best software for optimising process parameters by RSM.
It is not like that which software is good or bad. we cannot compare like this but regarding to your questions design expert is quite simple to use than other. coming to results for interpretations you can look for JMP once.
