For testing some antibiotics resistance phenomena we need a perfect culture media in which we can grow Acinetobacter baumannii and E. coli togather. We have tried Nutrient Agar, Macconkey Agar and Blood Agar. It will be more helpful if experts help us n choosing the right one. Thank you in advance.
Mac Conkey agar would be a better choice, since besides being selective for gram negative, it allows an optimal growth of both species. This agar joined Antimicrobials for use as screening of Multiresistant strains has been used.
According to CLSI, Muller-Hinton agar is the best medium for detection of antibiotic resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii and E. coli.

Hi, in case you want to do the antibiotic-resistant test (Disc diffusion test or Kirby-Bauer testing) the media must be Mueller-Hinton agar, whilst McConkey agar for growing the A. baumannii and E. coli is the best.
This agar might help you for the detection of MDR Acinetobacter. Its a specific agar.

For both the E.coli and Acinetobacter you can use the MH-agar for disc diffusion or E.tests. Another option would be a platform as the Vitek or Phoenix.
