Dear Alireza Jalili , from the wikipedia page one can realize the importance of these modern digital equipment to provide us -users- with something more than just a single number or figure to describe the roughness. As explained there two (or more) surfaces could share the same roughness paremeter, while they are clearly different. A good way to avoid that would be some means of showing the appearance of such surface´s roughness, for example by means of a image, actually a 3D reconstruction of the surfaces.
The wikipedia article is illustrated with a picture of Lynceetec digital holographic microscopes, that with some other ways of optical profilometry are giving us these tools to avoid these possible skewed roughness values or interpretations.
They have the advantage of being fast (very fast), often they get a relatively big area in a single shot, then the software rebuilds the 3D surface profile and the software tools allows us to obtain any section in any direction of interest and also let us to obtain the roughness parameteres well from the whole surface or from some section of interest.
This kind of tools are of great interest but it doesn´t mean that traditional measures are wrong. If you are dealing all the time with the same material and tooling conditions, the roughness obtained by a conventional method would be useful to asses the surface roughness. If tooling or material (or both) are changed, there is where this new approach would be more interesting to make reliable comparations.

Hi Alireza Jalili , sadly most of these software are proprietary and they come with the instruments. In many cases they produce their own kind of files, sometimes the software lets you save as, and get some more easily readable file. The tools I refered to were these included in the instrument software. However there are some software that can cope with files from different origins and can perform the same kind of operations over profilometry data files adquired by large variety of instruments.
The best example I can think about is Gwyddion, originally developed for AFM data but now able to deal with data from other kind of measures, including profilometry. It is an open source and free to download, please have a look to the following link or go directly to the website:
