CO3, KOH and K2CO3), salts (such as NaCl, KCl, (NH4)2SO4, CaCl22H2O, NH4NO3, KNO3 and C6H5Na3O72H2O), deionized water, chelating agents and buffer solutions (such as bicarbonate, phosphate and tris) were used in various studies.

If you use an inexpensive material (like a biomass or carbonaceous material), you should use thermal treatment. On the other hand, if you need to recover the metal and regenerate the adsorbent, you should use an eluent solution, such as acid, saline or organic solutions.

Method of recovery is depend on the strength of bond between the metal ion and the adsorbent used. For an example, M+ type metal ions is adsorbed to adsorbent with negative serface charge. For such occations, we can use H+ solution or cation exchange method to extract the M+ from the adsorbent. Sometime, you can use Chelating agents for the task.

You may use an HCl solution (probably around 10% concentration). Mix the HCl solution with the residue for approximately 2-24 hours.
