Hello, I have come across a paper in which a circular patch antenna was designed with multiple substrate (Mercery and Liquid Crystal Polymer) to achieve frequency reconfiguration. As I'm a new CST user, I thought of simulating this same antenna before working further with this antenna for my thesis. But I'm finding difficulties understanding in CST software environment. I've worked with only ADS software so far.
Can anyone give me a quick guideline on how to simulate this antenna in CST?
I think the "tensorbundle" channel will help you in this case. To create double layer substrate in CST, you have to do the followings,
1. Open a new project template
2. Go to modelling and enable the Local WCS coordinate system
3. Now, select a brick from the upper right corner
4. Press the ESC button and define your brick dimensions and choose material
5. It will create the first substrate
6. Then select the upper face of your substrate by clicking the f button
7. Repeat process 3 to 5.

If you fail to find desired materials in the CST Material library, you must create them on your own by inserting their permittivity and loss tangent values.

W = 10 * f0 * sqrt(Dk) L = 0.4 * f0 * sqrt(Dk)
where:
- W is the patch width in millimeters
- L is the patch length in millimeters
