Hello Everyone, I need to compare three methods of soil stability, i have to evaluate which could be most suitable method. Which kind of analysis model is best suited to evaluate which method was appropriate for these soils to evaluate their stability.
Principal Component Analysis could be a good option for comprehensive comparison between different variables.
You can use ANOVA one-way model to analysis your case study if you find significant differences between methods in this time use multiple comparison to determine which method are good.

You have only one variable (aggregate stability) so PCA or other multivariate analysis would not work.
As mentioned above ANOVA would be the way forward (if your data are normally distributed and shows homogeneity of the variances), but it is unclear from your question if you are looking at 1 soil with replicates or multiple soils with replicates. If you have only 1 soil it would be one-way ANOVA, but if you have more than 1, it should be a two-way ANOVA with methods and soils as factors. It is important to have soils as a factor if you have more than one, to assess the effect of different soils on the methods.
Sir i have 8 soils, with 9 replicates each (3field *3Lab), as per your recommendation i would apply two way ANOVA. Thank you for the kind suggestion.
I understand field but what is Lab? You need a more complex set-up than one-way of two-way ANOVA but well some kind of more complex experimental design, perhaps a split-plot design. It depends on the randomness and on the kind (fixed or random) of your effects. I have thought that in the past but have forgotten much of it. I had a good book on the subject but should find the reference.
Sir Guy Mélard its nice to hear from you, sorry i shouldn't use "lab" (its laboratory replications, one field soil sample was further divided into 3 samples so each one plant specie soil with 3 field replicates and each replicates with further 3 replicates (collected soil from 3 different plots).
If you have different methods and different soils (or fields, location, type), a two-way ANOVA would work. Then, if you have different treatments with a random block design, you can run a mix model, with the block design as a random effect.
From your description it is unclear what you did. My understanding is that you took one sample in a field, and then in the lab divided in 3 to perform your stability analysis on each subsamples. So, you have pseudo replicates or technical replicates.
