Hello, You can store samples in 5-15% glycerol solution for one time use aliquots or with 50% glycerol to avoid freeze thaw cycles in multiple usage from the same tube at -80*C.

You need to desalt the purified protein before freezing, else it will precipitate. Store the purified protein at 4 degree till desalted. You can use PD-10 column for quick desalting.

Also you can store the purification proteins in liquid nitrogen(aliquots) and then in the -80℃ freezer
