Water-miscible organic solvents like acetonitrile or isopropanol were often used for gradient elution of proteins in HPLC. Thus you may try to use them or their mixtures with water for dissolution. I am not so sure about DMSO or DMF, as these may denaturate or deactivate proteins. It does not necesserily mean precipitation, by the way. You may try organic solvent with some water content, to keep the protein dissolved.
