I have read through a thread stated that " Implicit dynamic methods are used for simulating longer duration events (e.g., looking at the vibration of a structure following an impulse load).", which suited with my research to analyse the structural vibrational reponse due to time history data (10s with 0.01 increment= 1000 data).
However, i need a better clarification regarding on main difference between dynamic explicit vs dynamic implicit ?
Does dynamic implicit is appropriate to be used to analyse the building vibration behaviour (no fracture or damage are considered) ?

I don't think there is a general answer to this. First would be to calculate the number of timesteps an exlicit analysis would need. The stable time increment can be estiamted as t=L/c where L is the length of the smallest element in your mesh and c is the speed of sound - so this depends on the size of your structure and your mesh.
If the outcome of this is larger than roughly a milluion steps, then you will probably want to use implicit analysis.
Note that c is the speed of sound through the structure. This can be approximated as 7000 m/s for steel.
It varies in concrete with the strength, density and stiffness of the concrete. Usually, around 3600 m/s is used for normal weight, normal strength concrete, though I measured 4500 m/s in dense, high strength concrete, and higher values could be expected for very high strength concretes (100 MPa and over).
Dear Saubrabh Kumar , my research is mainly focus to perform the dynamic analysis of multi storey building structure based on the vibration load data ( time history of acceleration load), where the load is applied on a specific point on the floor structure.
Currently i have performed the dynamic implicit analysis with BC of Acceleration/Angular acceleration to apply the time history load and able to develop the result. However, from my reading, the dynamic implicit is suitable for "non-linear analysis". which in my case , i supposely need to look into the linear analysis. Does the difference of method used (dynamic explicit or dynamic implicit) can affect my results?
