I wish to use carriers like glycogen, tRNA, Salmon Sperm DNA for improving the yield and purity of DNA and RNA isolations from clinical blood and FFPE tissue samples.
Would like to know which type of carrier works better for DNA/RNA. kindly include references where comparative analysis was done using different type of carriers for improved DNA/RNA yields.
What are your downstream applications? Would they be affected by the possible genomic DNA contamination of the tRNA or the Salmon DNA itself?? As you only mention three carriers why not just test these for yourself in whichever in-house DNA purification assay you run and see which works best for you?
Hello Marcus , for DNA the downstream would be Real Time PCR and for RNA it would be cDNA synthesis followed by Real Time, and we wish to choose one of the above carriers based on literature evidences and finding the right carrier for the right nucleotide. I wish to know if any one has done comparisions as mentioned by u above and published the study. So that it would decrease the troubleshooting part from our end in choosing the right carrier
