I am working on a CAD algorithm to analyze drawing shape. Which are the features that I can take to characterize shape of lines or geometric shape. I'm looking for a global approach that is invariant to rotation, scale and translation.

I suggest that you first need to consider what types of features you want to identify (geometric, topological, application oriented etc.), and then consider how those features can be recognised from the CAD geometry by looking for patterns. Topological features (external loops, inner loops, corners, T-junctions, X junctions) are all invariant to scaling and translation.

I want to test zernike moments or wavelet transform as a globale approches, what you think?
