I suggest bis(sulfosuccinimidyl) suberate (BS3), available from Thermo-Fisher, because it is water soluble. I had good results with some recent work on a dimeric protein (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25003324).

Diisocyanates worked well for me at RT.
- if your protein is not stable, how would you prove that
cross-link is not on denatured fraction?

Hi Gergely, you might want to look into zero-length crosslinkers like carbodiimides.
