For ion exchange chromatography, you can use either an anion exchanger such as Q-Sepharose, or a cation exchanger such as SP-Sepharose.

Sephadex G50 is not an ion exchange resin; it is a gel filtration resin. This can also be used for protein purification. For gel filtration using and FPLC, you should use a Superdex column.

Hi Ravi, this a very general question and there is no "one-size-fits-all" answer.

I'm sure that if you scour Google Scholar you will find a purification procedure for your enzyme or a similar enzyme.
