The maintenance of beneficial insect fauna ( parasitoids like Chalcidae, Eulophidae, Tachinidae, Braconidae wasps etc.) are important in crops for the biological control of pests. Which family of plants you consider are the most important in your country ?

In Serbia we usually use plants from the Apiaceae, Tropaeolaceae, Asteraceae, Lamiaceae, Boraginaceae families etc. In order to attract ladybugs we plant Foeniculum vulgare (Apiaceae). Anethum graveolens (Apiaceae) will attract bees, flies and wasps with its scent, while Tropaeolum majus (Tropaeolaceae) attracts aphids protecting all surrounding plants in this way. Also, we use Borago officinalis (Boraginaceae) for attracting butterflies, bees, wasps and bumblebees.

De acuerdo con los estudios que he trabajado y otras fuentes bibliográficas, en Colombia se han estudiado las familia de plantas como atrayentes de insectos benéficos (Parasitoides, Depredadores y polinizadores) Lamiaceae, Asteraceae, Fabaceae, Verbenaceae, Rubiaceae y Euphorbiaceae. Entre las plantas que mas se destacan por su morfologia floral, la cual, promueve disponibilidad de recursos florales (polen y nectar) de forma espacial y temporal son Hyptis capitata, Hyptis mutabilis (Lamiaceae), encontrando altas poblaciones de depredadores (Vespidos, coccinelidos, reduviidae, ) y parasitoides (Braconidos, Chalcididos, ichneumonidos, afelínidos). Otras plantas como Urena lobata (Malvaceae), Stachytarpheta cayennesis (verbenaceae), Melampodium divaricatum (Asteraceae), Borreria laevis (Rubiaceae), Senna reticulata, Senna tora (Fabaceae) se han usado como plantas atrayentes.
Many plants come into consideration. For parasitic wasps for example: golden alexanders (Zizia aurea), rattlesnake master (Eryngium yuccifolium), partridge pea (Chamaecrista fasciculata). For beneficial flies: yarrow (Achillea millefolium), fennel (Foemiculum vulgare), alyssum (Lobularia maritima) or fleabane (Erigon spp.) For beetles it is recommended to have goldenrod (Solidago spp.) or cupplant (Silphium perfoliatum) and many other…All depends on the feeding habits of the parasitoïds and predators.
