I'm working on heterojunction material. Basically, the heterojunction between wide and small band gap material. As I know, during the formation of heterojunction, the fermi level will align, and band will bend based on the movement of charge carriers. But in case of a conduction band and valence band, whether the potential will change? whether the change in potential is negligible?

In most of the articles, people are not telling about the band potentials after the formation of heterojunction.
