In a recent "KVK (Subject Matter Specialist) selection", some of the delegates advised me not to use any political term like "Doubling farmers income in India" in any kind of interview. Yes, it is first proposed by our Honourable Prime Minister. Afterwards, is is one of the major mandates of ICAR. All the seminars and symposiums arranged in India after that on agriculture and allied sectors, their major thematic area also how the income of farmers can be increased and "agrarian distress" can be reduced. In this situation, I can't understand how this quote can be a political term or propaganda. Please give your opinion too regarding this...

Sometimes phrases are associated with a political ideology. In Pakistan, the phrase "Tabdeeli" (Change) became a slogan for one of the political parties. After the elections this "Tabdeeli" has been used as a mocking tool in organizations. When we talk about organizational change people think that there is an affiliation with some political party.
We still dont know the scientific protocols that would help doubling the production. No national conscientious on this gigantic job. Let the working scientists remain busy in their modest way in inventing methods to increase the productivity of crops in geographical areas where they are working.
Even the concept of Doubling the farm income may be used has some political perspective though we as a scientific forum should take it as a new idea and there may not be a chance to have double farm income but if we can achieve more than 100 percent by reducing inputs that will be enough for us.
So I think we should work on it by different means like diversified farming and integration of the sources.

Yes, I can understand all these things..May be it is not possible to double farmers income within a short span. But my question is how it can be a political term when all agri professionals and scientists are working for it..
Obviously it's not directly the political term but it is used to show the improvement in the Agriculture by different means. And to go for it is not bad I think.
As you have emphasised on professionals working on it that is common because all the policies always be defined by the ministers with the guidance of professionals.
So we should follow them accordingly.
