I know there are ion selective electrodes (ISEs) out there for measuring specific ion concentration and these electrodes have an ion selective membrane within them. Where can I purchase the membrane by itself?
Are you looking to buy the ISE or just the selective membrane ? If it is the membrane it is also depends for which ions since the selectivity can be different (size, interactions etc)
Thanks for the answers. We're looking for something for Ca2+ and Na+ ions. Just the selective membrane to be used in a microfluidic appllication.
It looks as though the Selectophor product is an ionophore that can be used to treat an existing membrane, not a commercial off-the-shelf membrane, no?
Mix and cast the ISE membrane yourself. Only reasoable way for you. Ideally directly to your fluidic system. Consider adhesion and plasticiser migration from membrane to your fluidics polymer.
