When writing a paper, do you list all chemicals and reagents and companies at beginning of materials and methods or during the technique description?

Most paper list ALL materials and their companies at the first part of methodology but I find it boring . I prefer to mention what I used when I am telling what I did. Eg: in western section, I will mention I got RIPA from Santa Cruz.
