is STROBE a reporting tool? so we need to make sure we reported every item of the checklist in our manuscript before submission? or we simply can mention that some items are not applicable to our research? or we can briefly describe some items in the checklist but not write in manuscript (as presence of confounders and how we choose sample size). It really depends on your study designs. Yes, some fields are mandatory, however, should there be any item in the checklist that you did not met maybe because it is not required for the type of study or its not feasible; you can very well skip that part.
It is all depend on the type of your study and your methodology. Some points must be fullfilled, others can be skipped if not meeting your research methodology
