Our lab is not equipped for the Hungate technique, and if there is another alternative I would like to try it. Also, once I have growing cultures, can I make glycerol stocks the usual way, or do I need to do something different?

Hello!
I generally create a semi-solid media for my bacteria, and it works well for the bacteria from DSMZ.
I have also tried glycerol stock, and it works fine for me! I just do an extra purging with nitrogen prior to resuspending my cells in the glycerol/media.
