Every now and then we hear about a new position of a given university or a university college in an international ranking system. What is the most important point in universities ranking? Is it the number of academic staff publications? their websites updates? the number of their graduates every year? or what?
Dear Amjad, I suppose all that you have listed. However, I do not believe in ranking. Most of the time they do not show the real picture or the real value of an university.

In India following criteria for ranking Universities/Colleges, considering essentially set-up for postgraduate education and research, it was decided to assign higher percentage (40%) weightage to
“Research Productivity, Impact and IPR”, 30 % weightage to “Teaching, Learning and Resources”, 5% weightage to “Graduation Outcomes”, 5% weightage to “Outreach and
Inclusivity” and lastly 10% weightage to “Perception” and 10% for staff position weightages assigned for ranking of colleges or universities.
