Dear all,

I used to use L929 conditional medium for BMDM isolation, and I generally get around 100 million BMDMs per mouse (8-12 weeks) after 7 days of differentiation (10 Petri dishes with ~10 million per plate).

But after I switched to m-CSF (10ng/ml), I only get ~30 million per mouse. Many cells are still floating, and not adhering. Different protocols give different yields of total BMDMs with m-CSF.

So based on your own experience with m-CSF, is 30 million a normal number of BMDM isolation?

Thanks in advance!
